Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Stir in the uncooked rice and cook for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and the mixture is thick and creamy, stirring occasionally.

2 beaten egg yolks
2 cups half & half
1/4 cup flour
2 cans evaporated milk
1 pinch nutmeg
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
2 cups cooked and shredded potatoes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
1/2 cup chopped green onion
Instructions:
In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour, salt, pepper, garlic and nutmeg.
Add half & half and evaporated milk and cook on medium-high heat until thickened.
