Ginger Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 pound chicken breast, cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

- 1 teaspoon red chili powder

Dal Makhani
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole black lentils
- 1/4 cup kidney beans
- 3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1 green chili, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup cream
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
- Wash lentils and kidney beans in running water. Soak them overnight in enough water.
- Drain the water and pressure cook the lentils and beans in 3 cups of fresh water. Cook until soft and mushy.
- In a pan, heat butter and saute onions until golden brown. Add ginger paste, garlic paste and green chili. Fry for a minute until fragrant.
- Add chopped tomatoes and spices- cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and turmeric powder. Cook for a few minutes until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
- Add cooked lentils and beans to the pan. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes. Mash them slightly with the back of a spoon.
- Add cream and salt. Mix well and simmer on low heat for 10-15 min.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with naan or rice.
