6 Month Old Feeding Guide
At 6 months, most babies will start showing signs of readiness for solid foods. Here's a suggested feeding guide:
Morning
- Breastmilk or formula (4-6 ounces)
Noon
- Pureed vegetables (1-2 tablespoons)
- Pureed fruits (1-2 tablespoons)

Evening
- Pureed meats (1-2 tablespoons)

Bedtime

Starting Solids
Starting solids is an exciting time for both parents and babies. Here are some tips to get you started:
Ingredients
- Fruits (bananas, peaches, apples, avocado, etc.)
- Vegetables (sweet potato, squash, peas, green beans, etc.)
- Meats (chicken, beef, turkey, etc.)
- Cereals (oatmeal, rice, barley, etc.)
- Breastmilk or formula
- Water (to thin out purees if needed)
Instructions
- Choose one ingredient to start with. For the first few feedings, you can mix breastmilk or formula with the puree to make it easier for baby to swallow.
