Summer is officially upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a delicious and beautiful beach-themed cake! We stumbled upon this amazing creation by Partymatecakes on CakesDecor, and had to share it with you. And we found another stunning beach-themed cake by Creative Cakes by Lynn that we just couldn't resist adding to the mix. So, let's dive in!
Beach Theme Cake by Partymatecakes
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup egg whites (about 7 large egg whites)
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- Blue and green food coloring gel
- Edible sand or graham cracker crumbs
- Seashell and starfish decorations
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease three 8-inch round cake pans and line bottoms with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and vanilla extract with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Add egg whites and beat on medium speed until incorporated, about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating on low speed after each addition until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- Divide batter evenly into 3 bowls. In one bowl, add blue food coloring gel until desired shade is reached. In another bowl, add green food coloring gel until desired shade is reached. Leave the third bowl uncolored.
- Using a spoon, gently scoop a bit of blue batter into one cake pan. Follow with a scoop of green batter, and finish with a scoop of uncolored batter. Continue this pattern until each pan is filled.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of each cake comes out clean. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- Once cooled, trim the tops of cakes to ensure they are level. Place one cake layer on a cake stand or serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top. Add the second layer of cake and repeat. Finish with the third layer of cake.
- Cover the cake with frosting and decorate with edible sand or graham cracker crumbs. Add seashell and starfish decorations, and edible glitter if desired.
Beach Theme Cake by Creative Cakes by Lynn
Ingredients:
- 1 box white cake mix (plus required ingredients)
- 3 cups buttercream frosting
- Blue and green food coloring gel
- Edible sand or graham cracker crumbs
- Seashell and starfish decorations
Instructions:
