Your 9 month old baby is growing fast and needs a healthy, balanced diet to support their development. Here is a 3 week Indian diet plan that will provide nutrition-rich meals for your little one.
Week 1

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of cooked rice
- 1/4 cup of cooked moong dal
- 1/4 cup of bottle gourd (lauki), peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup of carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup of tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 tsp of cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp of ghee
Instructions:
- Wash the rice and moong dal and soak them for 30 minutes in water.
- After 30 minutes, drain the water and add the rice and dal to a pressure cooker.
- Add water and cook for 3-4 whistles or until soft and well cooked.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin powder and vegetables.
- Sauté for a few minutes and add the cooked rice and dal.
- Mix well and serve to your baby once it has cooled down.
Note: You can skip the ghee if your baby has trouble digesting it.
Week 2

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of cooked rice
- 1/4 cup of cooked toor dal
- 1/4 cup of carrot, peeled and grated
- 1/4 cup of tomato, chopped
- 1/4 cup of spinach, chopped
- 1/4 tsp of cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder
Instructions:
- Wash the rice and toor dal and soak them for 30 minutes in water.
- After 30 minutes, drain the water and add the rice and dal to a pressure cooker.
- Add water, turmeric powder and cook for 3-4 whistles or until soft and well cooked.
- In a pan, heat oil and add cumin powder and vegetables.
- Sauté for a few minutes and add the cooked rice and dal.
- Mix well and serve to your baby once it has cooled down.
Week 3
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of cooked brown rice
- 1/4 cup of cooked quinoa
- 1/4 cup of sweet potato, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup of broccoli, chopped
- 1/4 cup of green beans, chopped
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- A pinch of black pepper
Instructions:
- Wash the brown rice and soak it for 30 minutes in water.
- After 30 minutes, drain the water and add the rice to a pressure cooker.
- Add water and cook for 3-4 whistles or until soft and well cooked.
- Wash the quinoa and add to a pan with 1/2 cup of water and cook on medium heat until fully cooked.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil and add the vegetables.
- Sauté for a few minutes and add the cooked rice and quinoa.
- Add black pepper and mix well.
- Mash the mixture if needed and serve to your baby once it has cooled down.
Note: You can substitute the brown rice with millet or oats.
These meals will provide your 9 month old with the necessary vitamins and minerals for their growth and development. Always make sure to introduce new foods slowly and monitor your baby for any allergic reactions.
